Inspired by the international success of her 2017 first full-length album, Femme Fatale, New York-bred rapper/songwriter MARQUEE made sure to outperform herself on her second studio album, Black Orphan. Bringing the image-rich lyrics of the 90s to the 21st century, she stays true to form on her newest reality-based project with her distinctive delivery of hard-hitting lines with a twist of the sass and femininity she is known for. In addition to perfecting her latest masterpiece, she runs her business, Blockshare Inc., and stays active with rap collaborations along the way.

MARQUEE built a name for herself in proceeding decades as an expert songwriter and fierce MC, the source that is crucial to her overall success and track record in the industry to date. Although she had sparks with the rap trio, Femme Fatale during the late 90s/2000s; an era credited for birthing a handful of female rap careers, that did not mark where hers began. MARQUEE hit her stride well before then, as a lot of her fame came from her back story. 

Currently, the instinctive rapper can be considered a major part of the resurgence of 90s Hip Hop’s gritty sound. She enlisted the production support of Da Beatminerz, Jake One and Buckwild (D.I.T.C.), Rockwilder and amongst others for her current full-length project and her new single “Party Freak” featuring Monifah also known as Mo’ Barz and others can be heard among the DJ circuit today.
